Become an artist- fulfil your dreams

While going around several Open Studios these past few weeks I have been struck by the number of people who have taken up art as a second career usually after earning a living doing something totally different.


They have reached a stage of life where they want personal fulfilment , a creative outlet, and turn to art.
 
Today I met engineer Ian Goodall, turned sculptor, working in metal and wood and his partner Lynne Schroder, a former army nurse who left the military to take a course in metal working ( see extra).
 
In my own case I left journalism after thirty years to go to Glasgow School of Artt as a mature student.
 
It's never too late to fulfil your dreams.
