Welsh Chafer

Love it when I find and photograph an insect new to me. As soon as I saw this I guessed that it was a chafer because of its shape, chunkiness and lobed antennae. I'm happy to have this handsome Welsh chafer beetle in my garden but people who like perfect lawns aren't keen because its grubs ruin the sward.

Another new insect to my garden is the small heath butterfly. I've added it to extras with a small skipper.
