Fellowship

Today was the first of the big set piece events for the RSE that I get to be involved in - this time the induction of new Fellows. It was a very happy event, with new Fellows and their families / friends / supporters, and rather gratifyingly the sun shone throughout. Slightly irritating, of course, because I spent the whole day indoors.

I had to attend a meeting in the university first thing (well, really first thing I did a peloton workout, feeling in my legs the effects of yesterday's 90 minute workout....), then a Buildings Working Group at the RSE, before lunch with the new Fellows. Then came the induction event itself, with them all signing the roll (historical examples were on display as seen in some of the photos in the Collage), and latterly a reception. I flitted in and out of my office during the day, and also made fairly early tracks homeward.
