Da Boyz..

We said our formal goodbyes to dear Neil today. We learnt a lot about his childhood, his love for Valerie and his family, his ‘habits’ which made us smile, his passion for helping others and his Christian faith. And so we are able in our sadness to rest assured he is now with the God he loved and served so faithfully.

This ‘motley crew’ are some of the famous walking group Neil was part of for over thirty years, beginning with just our husbands and growing each year. They all look different from way back then but the bond is very strong and Neil will be muchly missed. The stories shared today spoke of that closeness.

We’re home again. We’re sad. We’re thinking of the family lots. Of Neil and Valerie lots. We wish Yeovil wasn’t three hours away. We want to tell Tim, Simon and Sarah and their families that we’ll always be there for them, that we’ll continue to visit and how precious they all are to us.

The sun has blessed us today. The journey home was in beautiful evening sunshine. We have many gratefuls.
