Red hot poker rehomed

Yesterday Richard gave me two red hot pokers to plant in my garden. I've popped them against the back wall. We'll see how they survive.

The two main events of the day were (1) washing and drying six loads of laundry and (2) watching Paddy limp to the end of the Centurion Running South Downs 100 from Mr hazelh's computer at the kitchen table (extra).

Paddy started the race at 06:30 Saturday and finished it almost 28 hours later at 10:23 this morning. In my extra you can see him approaching the finish line. The figures in black just behind him to the left of my extra are his father, his mother (my middle sister), and Caitlin. Paddy was somewhat broken with a very sore calf at the end of his ordeal, but we hope that he will recover quickly.

Also today we collected my repaired glasses from the optician, made a quick trip to the supermarket to stock up on post-holiday essentials, and watched our bold resident fox prowl around our garden in broad daylight looking for something to eat at 18:30.

Exercise today: walking (14,804 steps - that's more like it!)
