It's a good job I'm retired because sometimes, like this morning, I wake at 6.30am, get a cup of tea and go back to bed... for almost 3 hours!!! I'm not asleep, I'm on my phone having fallen down the rabbithole that is Blip :-) it didn't seem worth having breakfast at that point, so I waited a while and had brunch instead!
It seems that I had too much sun yesterday, I'd put F50 on my face but nothing on my arms - they weren't burnt because they were quite brown to start with, but brown is a sign of sun damage and I should know better. I'd like legs the colour of my arms, but I wore trousers and they're not!
Off to GoOutdoors and, because it's in the same direction I called at Toyota to clear up a couple of matters, and Kyle found me 3 dustcaps for the wheels as well.
It's better not to visit GoOutdoors as I spend too much. I wanted some short gaiters, because several of us are walking between the Fell & Rock Club huts in the Lake District in three weeks, and I don't want rain running down my legs into my socks and filling my boots..... Of course I bought another couple of things while I was there, but once home I discovered that I'd been billed wrongly. But it's just not worth a 7 mile round trip to be refunded £2, and anyway the item I've been charged wrongly for isn't on the receipt. Lesson: don't go shopping without glasses and check receipt at the time!
Then to the allotment to water and the mangetout peas are flowering. I brought home a small bunch of coriander and several pumpkin flowers, which I'll dredge in gram flour and fry, yum!
Edit: I'm watching the news, I need to stop really, and to think that in the 1970s we were seriously thinking about joining an Israeli kibbutz... who knows what my future would've looked like!
