Still the forecast was rubbish for climbing so I joined my Ramblers walk instead. We met at Hulme End carpark, Grindon, and I was able to use my Peak District National Park parking permit hurrah! It costs £40 for a year's parking rather than paying as you go, which today would've been £4.75 so it's worth it.

It was raining as we began walking but soon stopped... for a while, and that pattern continued. We managed to have our coffee stop and lunch in the dry though.

At about mile 6 we went down a steep track, concrete base but covered in a thin layer of mud. Both the mud and the concrete were slippery and all of a sudden I was down... in the mud lol, and then it happened again 10 minutes later! Luckily my rucksack saved my head and no damage was done to my bottom or wrists... but honestly! The tread on my boots is still okay, they're not very old, I think I was just unlucky. Anyway I'm okay, let's see if I get any bruises.

The rest of the walk passed without further incident. It was in a lovely area with lots of buttercup filled meadows (see extra) plus clover, eyebright, yellow rattle, dog daisy, sorrel and orchid. There were lots of sheep and cows obviously, also a fair few donkeys and we watched a lovely display by a red kite.
