There Must Be Magic

Water Droplets on This, Water Droplets on That

Long as I remember the rain been comin' down
Clouds of mystery pourin' confusion on the ground
Good men through the ages tryin' to find the sun
And I wonder, still I wonder, who'll stop the rain?

Well, we live in the great central Pennsylvania rainforest, where it rains pretty much every day now, whether it looks like it on the online radar map or not. It's that invisible rain, I guess; it shows up everywhere, then disappears before it's even gone.

I admit that even I, who am a rain lover, have grown a bit tired of it. I don't mind the cooler temps at all - oh no, I love that part! - but the tomato plants and I might like a glimpse of sun every now and again!

I took advantage of a break in the rain to go out and ride my bike around the block a few times, and when I came back, I grabbed my camera and photographed the water droplets on the leaves out front.

I'm glad I did, because a half-hour later, I looked out the front window to discover my husband whacking all of the leaves I'd just been photographing! Who knew it was a time-limited feature?

Hmm. And now that I look at it, this leaf is sort of folded up like a taco, which makes me want a taco more than anything. With extra cheese and sour cream. Call me easily distracted. . . .  Oh, call me ANYTHING but late for dinner!  ;-)

I need a rain song for this image, and as a real treat, here are TWO. Nobody except maybe the Doors does rain songs better. Here are two Creedence Clearwater Revival tunes for ya.

First, here is a real gem I just discovered, and it's from an album that I now know I absolutely MUST OWN. Here are John Fogerty and Bob Seger, with Who'll Stop the Rain. It's from the 2013 Fogerty album, Wrote A Song for Everyone. Oh, and did you know Dwight Yoakum even covered this tune? Yep, find it here.

My second song (see lyrics above) is a CCR tune, but they've bopped it up a bit. Here are the Outliers, John Fogerty, and CCR, with Have You Ever Seen the Rain

Aww, what the heck. Just for good measure, here's one more: Jane Siberry, from the film The Crow, with It Can't Rain All the Time.
