Team work
Thanks to some excellent team work the new cabin (aka the bedroom) is definitely no longer shaded by any pittosporum trees.
While I lopped and sawed branches, dragged them off to the wood pile and raked up after myself, Bean had the tough job of making sure my labours were worthwhile. She silently (apart from a bit of snoring) declared the result to be perfect.
Once that task was complete Bean stayed put and I took myself into the tunnel house to get on with the big tidy in there. The tomato plants were pulled out, ditto the cucumber plants (once they had been unravelled from their climbing frame). I uncovered three surprise cucumbers which will make an unexpected salad.
I weeded the overwintering brassicas and gave the chooks a huge bucket full of chickweed which they fell upon with enthusiasm.
The long-dead basil plants were turfed out of their pots and onto the pile of dead vegetation next to the compost bins. I will mow the pile into little bits tomorrow before tipping it all into the bin.
As you can see it was another beautiful sunny day. We had a frosty start. Rinse and repeat tonight and tomorrow. No complaints from me.
Happy days...
