Fathers' Day

I realise that a lot of people would think this, but I really had the best father!!!

My photograph is of him and my mum in the late thirties, just before they married.  My dad was the original ton up kid, he had six motor bikes in all, and he and mum travelled the length and breadth of the island although he never ventured abroad until he was older.

He was left a widower with three young daughters when my mum passed away young, and he was everything to us ...... he once told me 'I tried my best'...... He saw us all married and all his eight grandchildren, three born in Sweden, three born in England, one in Canada and one in Scotland, and he relished his time as Grandpa.

I still miss him......

Heard at church today that the plants all sold well.  Also that overall £1,200 was made for the hospice in memory of Alva's husband, an incredible amount and money still coming in.  We didn't manage to the coffee morning but donated plants beforehand, and gave a donation this morning along with others so the amount will rise.
