Father's Day.

St Vitus is patron saint of dancers, actors, dogs, comedians, Prague , Serbia and Czechoslovakia.

Happy Father's Day.

My Father was a Christian, a railwayman, first a train driver and then a passenger guard.
He loved that life and the camaraderie of his friends. He was an avid gardener and I think he passed on to my sister and me that joy and enthusiasm for gardening and growing edible plants and beautiful flowers. He was a good family man and kind to his great grand children.
I went to the 9am Mass at the Parish Church and offered it up for my late Father, family, friends and the recently departed from the parish and in the Air India plane crash.

Father Eddie gave a brilliant sermon, relevant to the mystery of the Holy Trinity. He said we should reflect on "the beauty of God's mystery and majesty." God's beauty is visible in nature and fine landscapes but also in the soul who loves, prays with devotion and shares faith in Jesus.

We are now waiting for Maria to come from Leeds. I hope she has a safe journey. Then we will have a buffet lunch and perhaps a country walk if the weather stays good. It is sunny and windy and 20.1c at the present time.
