Finally Resting

Merlin woke at 6am so I was up early and was able to enjoy breakfast in the peace of the early morning - just the sounds of the birds and a few bees busy collecting pollen from the flowers in the garden.

The morning was spent at the allotment, weeding and digging up the final remaining chard and spinach plants from last year. Three hours later and things were looking much better. Before I returned home I picked more strawberries and the first leaves from this year’s chard and spinach plants.

After resting in the garden enjoying the new seating arrangement on the patio, I walked Merlin. I let him show me where he wanted to go - to the meadow for two loops, then to the stream for a dip, then along River Street and up to the recreation ground. He wanted to go on but by then I was hot and feeling in need of a sit down so we wandered home and played ball in the garden.

Meanwhile Andy had been preparing our Saturday Night Curry. It turned out to be a particularly good one and was enjoyed with a glass of beer.

Here’s Merlin in one of his favourite places and finally resting.
