Horse and carriage ride
We had a good day, 14 people went for the carriage ride. When we got back one of the workers took photos of us. Two of the carriages would hold up to 6 people. The one I was on would hold 4 people, including the driver.
The couple in the back arrived before I did and while we were waiting for the rest of the group, this carriage pulled up. Joe and Sharon wanted to be in that carriage, so we went over to stand beside it and have a closer look. The owner said it was the first trip using that carriage, they had just acquired it. Even though the remainder of the group had not arrived, the owner told us to climb in and she was our driver.
They give us some of the history of the town and some of the homes and buildings that we pass. The drivers include some puns with their speech. The best one was 'People living in Halifax cannot be buried in the cemetery'. **
After we all arrived back at the starting point, we discussed where to go for lunch. One member used to live in Lunenburg and he suggested going to The Fish Factory, above the museum. He said there is a good view of the harbor from the restaurant. It turned out to be an excellent suggestion. We were lucky to get in with a large group. They had no problem seating us.
And I will be out every evening next week again. Trip planning meeting on Monday, a quote on Tuesday, potluck picnic on Wednesday, and a consultation on Thursday.
** Only dead people are buried in a cemetery.
