Almost...

Today I had time to do some work as A walked Django, and then we left for Edinburgh, dropping off at the storage unit the chairs that had been in the car since Tuesday. At the flat I managed to splint both the old bed and mattress into two. We loaded some rubbish and more chairs, putting the latter into storage before returning to Penicuik to recycle the scrap wood and fabrics. Back to the flat, we managed to get the two mattress halves and a half the bed into the car, but little else. We couldn't take the mattress and bed to out local tip, so they were lobbed into the garage.

By then we were tired, as it had been a warm day. I realised that my "crazy" turnaround between trips next weekend actually left us most of a day to deal with the last items from the flat and hoover it. So we relaxed, then I walked Django while A cooked. I returned just as daughter K got off the bus. She ate with us, and then we took Django to the neighbour who will be looking after him until Tuesday, when K takes him to the rest of our time away.

When I emptied the compost in the garden, it was amazing how things have come on since there's been a bit of rain. Although it's well on its way to being rewilded, as/when I do bring it back under control, the shrubs I put in 15 years ago are now getting rather impressive!
