Pickin’ Blueberries

We woke up at daylight. I was not about to get up. More sleep eluded me though. Hubby started to pack the car. I filled the coolers. We went out to pick the second bush of blueberries. It must have been close to 100% humidity. We each picked a basket of fruit (see insert right corner) and re-covered the bush with netting. They will be fine until Tuesday morning. I am so pleased with this year’s quantity. They will be filling us with healthy antioxidants all winter. But we were both sweat balls. We finished the leftovers with breakfast, don’t ask. We showered and got to rest for a bit before we had to leave. Hubby had his heart set on Dickie’s BBQ, it is permanently closed. We settled on Chipotle and each saved half our our bowl for dinner. The drive was uneventful. We stopped for bananas and arrived at the resort at the same time as Renee and Parker. They left two hours after us but took interstates where we drove through the country. Renee said the interstates were packed with folks heading to the beaches. No thanks. Our condo is very nice, 2 bedrooms and 2 baths so it will work well for us. Parker’s first game is at 8:00 but the fields are only 15 minutes away. We brought our rain gear just in case. Hope your weekend is sunny and carefree. Stay safe. Thanks for dropping by. “You'll never regret eating blueberries or working up a sweat.” - Jacquelyn Mitchard
