Soft, organic, and very untidy by nature
Last month I was in Cartmel one late afternoon and was disappointed to find the Priory closed. I did have a good walk around the village, which determined today.
So this morning I travelled to Cartmel and visited the Priory. Lit a candle. Then I had lunch at Rogan - the first time ever I’ve been to a michelin star restaurant. The set menu was good value (less than a ticket for most premier football matches). And the food was just fab - Simon Rogan has a farm a mile out of Carmel serving Rogan and the very swish L’Enclume (also Michelin starred, but more so) so it’s all very seasonal.
I visited Foulshaw Moss on my return journey, which is where I photographed the cotton grass. Extra - milk ice cream, dandelion root and peach leaf on a seed base. Soft, organic, but natural might be a stretch.
