TODAY WAS THE DAY...
...the HCBs had their Covid booster jabs. Here is my wonderful model, who was happy to be photographed and you can see he is smiling. The nurse, at the pharmacy local to our surgery, was amazing and I didn’t even feel it this time, whereas last time I remember that it was a very painful injection and my arm felt sore for days afterwards. Time will tell what this one is like!
The nurse was very happy for me to take photographs and told us that last time we had had the Pfizer jab but this time it was the Moderna - and these were the last two she had, so hopefully all will be well or at any rate, better than last time.
As we came out of the pharmacy, I saw there was a beautiful Philadelphus bush next to the car park and our surgery, so stopped to take a photograph - the perfume was amazing, so that was a bonus.
After that we went shopping at Aldi and spoke to several lovely people - none of whom we knew. It was a friendly morning and most people seemed happy and I even managed to bless several customers and the young man who served us with a little wooden heart.
We had chatted to one lady whilst putting our shopping on the conveyor belt and I told her that I only had about eight items on my shopping list and now had about 30 on the belt - she confessed that she had only come in for one thing and she had about 99 items! When we got out to our cars, she was parked in the next bay, so we had another little chat and of course, I blessed her with a little wooden heart too.
There was someone waiting in her car so the first lady told us she looked after her passenger, who had Alzheimers, so I asked if it was OK to chat to her and she said it was. She opened the car door and a little dachshund started barking and jumping around. The lady sitting in the car tried to quieten her, but she wasn’t happy. Eventually she quietened down and I asked if I could take a photograph of the dog - so in the middle of my collage is “Ruby Lou”. I'm not normally a "doggy" person, but Ruby Lou was a beautiful little dog.
When I gave the lady in the car one of my little wooden hearts, she beamed at me and said “Thank you so much!” It is such a joy to be able to bless people and I don’t suppose this lady sees many others apart from her carer.
Our conversation at the till reminded me of this quote, which I did quote to the lady and at which we both laughed:
“The odds of going to the store
for a loaf of bread and
coming out with ONLY a loaf of bread
are three billion to one.”
