ICAD #10
Even though I have to squeeze a little time out of the day to create these cards, I'm really enjoying participating in Index Card a Day (ICAD) this year.
I came upon a theme this year quite by chance, but maybe not? --my family is forefront in my mind these day. The first card I made for this challenge used photos with leftover hand printed paper. It inspired me to concentrate on my family as an overall theme, including pets and my family of friends.
As some of you know, my mom fell and broke her wrist on Sunday at the Rehab where she's living while doing therapy for her hip she broke in May. The hip is healing and the wrist is not bothering her (wow). She will get a cast on Monday, when the swelling has gone down.
The good news in this soup of bad news is... through a recommendation from a senior living concierge we have found a dedicated Memory Care that looks perfect for mom. They are well educated as they specialize in Dementia and Alzheimer's. We have begun a detailed and well organized process to bring mom into this community. I got very emotional after a meeting with the Director yesterday. He understood so much of what we all have been going through and his vision of care is like none we have encountered before. So empathetic, with great understanding of this disease. When we all said goodbye, I asked him if I could give him a hug. I was so happy and grateful for what he could offer our family.
Thanks for listening.
