Pipe down in the back!

A few weeks ago I noticed a bit of mould inside a box picture frame on my stairs. I took it off the wall for a closer look and found a big, black patch behind it - gulp! Being the forthright, proactive person I am, I ignored it for a while, hoping it'd go away...

But guess what, it didn't, so I found myself a plumber who, after making that sucking noise through his teeth, starting hacking out a section of wall (he did ask first and fortunately it's only plasterboard). It seems that one of the pipes connecting to the bathroom waste pipe wasn't connected and, judging by the damp behind the wall, may never have been so. Luckily this wasn't the toilet waste pipe - phew!! Though perhaps I might've smelled it before... It does mean that every time I've had a shower or a wash in the sink, I've been adding to the lake beneath the house!

Anyhow, he's coming back next week to fit the right seal - this one's just temporary - and Bob's your uncle :-)

Now, does anyone know a good plasterboard-er?
