Children’s outing
The 77th charity taxi outing took place today. Edinburgh taxis bedeck themselves in balloons and take selected children on an outing. They go through the city to Musselburgh where they eat as much Luca’s ice cream as they can, then on down the coast to near North Berwick returning late afternoon.
It is a tradition that the occupants of the taxis ( or ambulance cars) try and water spray the onlookers. Sometimes the drivers take part. It starts at the zoo where the Lord Provost presides over awarding the blessed dressed taxis. Even the police outriders get involved.
A feel good day. Though many tourists were a bit bemused!
