Poppy time

Everything is arriving early this year. We just picked our first two raspberries which haven’t appeared in previous years until much later.

These poppies, originally from my late godmother’s garden, are now well established and in the clear morning sunshine were sparkling. And have also been blooming earlier than last year.

It has been a warm, slightly humid day, but really felt summery. A funeral at lunchtime for an elderly member of the congregation and the morning spent on paperwork but otherwise time to enjoy the garden.

I think many were doing that this evening as we went round the bypass to the airport to pick up our son. I have rarely seen so few cars on the road. It made for pleasurable driving!
