My Own Bouquet
...and my own art. The flowers came from in front of the house and the painting of Spring Lake was done by my neighbor, Ann Rosmarin. I did another, how shall I say it? Reubenesque? arrangement with big sunflowers and the leaves and 'flowers' of a smoke tree, but it wasn't made with any art in mind.
Something went wrong with one of John's hearing aids today, so we decided to go to the Hearing Center which is right next to the the Brush Creek Trail. John went into the building while I waited in the car, but I decided take Spike with me and wait by the exit for him. Problem is, the building has several exits so while I waited at one, he came out the other, saw the car was empty and assumed I had started walking. When I got back to the car, he had locked it and started walking. Spike and I walked around and around the building, in case he was still inside. Of course, it was one of those quite rare occasions when I had forgotten my phone so there we were, stranded in a parking lot with no keys to the car and no way of phoning him. It was like one of the psychology experiments I sometimes volunteered for in college. Or one of those comedies involving a long hallway with lots of doors and people running in an out of them but never connecting. Only it wasn't funny.
By the time he finished the walk and came back to the car, I have to say I was, well, fuming.
A case of too much assuming and not enough communicating.
This was after I went with John to meet his internist, be a second set of ears and bring up some questions of my own. I'm still processing all that information, but my overall impression of her was pretty positive. One thing she said was that RiteAid, is definitely going to close and 'you don't want to get stuck without your medicine'. She transferred all John's prescriptions to Walgreens. The only improvement there is that it's closer to us. I'm going to have to call my doctor and get my prescriptions transferred too but I'd had enough for today. Especially after we got an undecipherable phone message from Walgreens....
