Mackerel Sky

It always seems that there is something slightly ominous about a mackerel sky, but it’s also quite striking. And as it turns out, a couple of hours later it was gone. It is warming up and supposed to be even warmer tomorrow.

It has been one of those days when I’ve accomplished nothing. I suppose each one of us defines accomplishment and whether it has been achieved in different ways. In my case it is usually something I set out to do in the morning. Today I wanted to finish the baby quilt top so I could show it to Kathy tomorrow. It never happened.

We were going to take Spike for a nice Sunday walk, but Dana and Jim came by and Dana and decided to I walk down to my neighbor’s open studio. We had a nice visit and I brought a painting home with me to see if I could find a suitable place to hang it.

I left my phone at the neighbors’, picked up John’ s phone to call her and got into a lengthy session of deleting and unsubscribing from dozens of emails. That eventually turned into the kind of catch22 password hell we’re all familiar with.

I walked back to the neighbors’ taking Spike with me this time because he hadn’t had a walk got my phone and came home.

Thank goodness for Jim and Dana because they came back to sort out the password hell issues.I think Jim actually enjoys these challenges, at least he says he does, but I just wind up with a headache and a lingering unease.

So nothing has been accomplished, by me at least, but we’re about to go to Jim and Dana’s for Sunday dinner.

What would we do without them?
