Corner Mountain Trail

I needed to go to Mom's today but wanted to get a hike in. I got up to the Snowies about 9:30. The Corner Mountain trailhead is one of the lower hikes and I really don't remember doing it before. Gosh, it was so beautiful. The blip is right at the trail head. Everything is green and there were lots of aspen to walk through. It is much prettier than the Little Laramie trail I did last weekend. That one is mostly hiking through tall lodgepole pines, which is basically walking through lots of tree trunks. This hike is on the opposite side of the valley and I think must get more rain. It was just a couple miles but was perfect. I got done and sat at the trail head and read my book for a while. I just need to remember to throw my camp chair in the car next time.
At Mom's I helped load books into her car and I loaded several bags of things for Good Will into my car. I also carried some books out to the dumpster. She still had the whole set of World Encyclopedias that we got when I was a kid. They are very out of date now and not something to take to the used bookstore or the library. But it was sad. I remember how beautiful I thought they were with the gold edging on the pages. I also threw away a bunch of slides without looking at them. At some point you just have to decide what will drive you crazy and just let it go. I have no desire to make prints from slides so into the dumpster they went. Sigh. Mom agreed. May Sarton is one of Mom's favorite authors and she had just about all of her books, which was a lot. All those are going to the library. She kept a couple of her favorites and I kept a small book of poetry and a story about a cat.
