Everyday I Write The Book

By Eyecatching

Mvnch time

We went to 2 exhibitions today, one on the rise of a new school of painting in Siena in the 14th century and the other on the portraits of the Norwegian artist Edward Mvnch. I preferred the former, TSM preferred the latter. This is a painter painting a painting in the Mvnch exhibition at the National Portrait Gallery.

In between we sat in Victoria gardens on the embankment and ate lunch, which was really pleasant as it was warm without being hot. A young woman was doing handstand flips on the grass which was remarkable to watch.

There was also a Japanese boy of about six dressed as a Coldstream guardsman being photographed by his mother in Trafalgar Square, which was unusual. But very sweet.

When we got home I had sore feet so crashed for a while. It has been an exhausting couple of weeks encompassing Wales (twice), Yorkshire, Oxfordshire and a visiting delegation from Hungary. Need some normal now.

Finished reading The City We Became by NK Jemesin, which is very good.
