Everyday I Write The Book

By Eyecatching

Chiswick

We went over to some friends to go out for a pub lunch. She has a place in North London but we met at his place on the Thames at Chiswick and kicked off with a walk along the river. I’ve not explored this area before but it is a delightful stretch with lots of history. William Morris’s house is maintained as a small museum by the society of his name, and everywhere  you go there are lovely looking pubs and cafes. We went to The Dove which is seriously old and wood panelled.

It was a lovely few hours of free flowing conversation and good food and on the way back we could watch people messing about on the river in small sailboats. The tide comes in very fast at this point and in the time it took us to eat lunch it went from a dry bed by the Chiswick eyot to being a full, fast flowing waterway.

The blip is of an unusual vegetable stall and the extra is the weekend sailors looking cold rather than bold as the wind carried them along.

Strider returned from a few days away in Canterbury but we didn’t see him as he had to sleep off what by his own admission was a "full on session" with friends last night.

Been a good weekend. Very people oriented.
