An Unusual Spider

Apologies to those of you who hate the sight of spiders but this one rather fascinated me.  I've no idea what it is, it was sitting on some mint leaves and taking into account it's long (and oddly jointed) legs would probably have spanned the palm of my hand.
You may prefer the extra, a Cornus Kousa Chinensis (White Dogwood).
A and I had a walk around NT Felbrigg this morning.  We were suitably armed with waterproofs and boots as the forecast predicted a 60% chance of rain, but in the end it has stayed dry all day.
After our walk we took our flasks of coffee into the beautiful walled garden, which was looking magnificent.  That's where we spotted the spider and the pretty Cornus flowers.

M and I have been busy this afternoon.  We've made a start on decorating the conservatory.  We made more progress than I expected, getting the skirting boards sanded, the walls washed with sugar soap and all the first coat of 'cutting-in' paint on the walls, ready for the paint roller tomorrow.

Off for a cup of tea now.
