Gently down the stream

The Greylag family

Today to my surprise I saw this family of greylag geese in the reserve.  I've never seen them here before, though I have once or twice south down the Itchen Valley.  Considering that as well as the largest they're said to be the UK's most numerous goose it's amazing how few of them we see.  Aren't they wonderfully snooty looking beings?

Also in the reserve are the first monkey flowers and purple loosestrife, both of which I have on my 'must capture' list.  The purple loosestrife in particular makes me realise how quickly the year is travelling on.

I think today I've achieved 12 years on blip.  Actually it's a bit longer than that, as near the beginning I did have one or two longish work-related gaps.  I'm not sure if 12 years is an achievement or just proof of insanity, but I thank you all, lovely Blippers, for travelling on the journey side by side with me.

Enjoy your evening  xx
