Gently down the stream

Ashy Mining Bee

I stopped to look at this bee because I'd never noticed one with these colours.  It's apparently an Ashy Mining Bee, a solitary bee that makes its nest in a small scoop or tunnel in the bank of, eg, a water way.  So surprising then that I found it just above the bank of the Nuns' Stream!  If you're interested she (and I think this is the female) was feeding on Parsley Water Dropwort -Oenanthe lachenalli.

Apart from that I've done some food shopping, been a bit domestic and, frankly, a little lazy.  How nice.  Hope your day's gone equally tranquilly.  Take care  xx
