A very rainy day

Well the anticipated rain came today and it was raining most of the day. Not surprisingly we spent most of the day indoors doing various chores.

At one point I looked outside and took this shot of the nearby hills with the rain about to come in again.  

In the evening the rain eventually eased off which was good as we were out for a meal at a Himalayan Restaurant in a nearby town.  It was to celebrate our wedding anniversary which is in a few days and we had heard good reviews of the food served.  We arrived early and had a little walk around by the riverside the smell of some roses covered in raindrops was lovely.  The meal was very good and we will go again but at a quieter time as it was very busy.  We thought we had paced ourselves very well managing  to eat all the food but then they brought out a very large piece of chocolate cake with chocolate sauce, strawberries and cream to celebrate our special day.

We took a shorter route home through the back country lanes and had to drive through a small area of flooded water.  An enjoyable evening and no doubt the gardens and fields are appreciating the rainfall.
