Very Hot

At 5 pm (now) it's a mere 96F/35.5C...ugh. 

My son and grandson came by for lunch - it's always fun to see just one grandchild - they act so differently when they're by themselves. Then they had to dash off to pick up my granddaughter from her Girl Scouts overnight camping expedition. So glad it wasn't tonight! Sleeping in a tent when it's in the mid-90's does not seem like fun to me.

My friend Lisa came by mid-afternoon - she and her husband recently returned from Palm Springs, where they spend the winters. It was super to see her, and really pleasant to go soak in the pool! 

This gorgeous Autumn Brilliance Fern (Dryopteris erythrosora 'Brilliance') is flaunting its gorgeous new foliage in a container in my courtyard. It seemed like an opportunity for the iPhone macro and a wee spritz of mist to create a cooling scene!


One more hot day and then it cools down.
