Down in the Valley Where the Green Grass Grows

The family reunion is held in the Sequatchie Valley in south central Tennessee. I simply love the panoramic views of the mountains. Today we had a bonus with the blue sky and puffy white clouds. We attended 8:00 Mass which was bilingual due to the large Hispanic population in the area. We left town after Mass and enjoyed the lovely ride back to the boys’ part of TN. We had a quick lunch and stopped for fuel. After picking up Mike, we visited everyone at Bob’s home. As usual, Jillian is working. We’re all going to dinner at our favorite BBQ restaurant. After taking Mike back home, we will drive to Wytheville, Va for the night. Our day ended better than Brooklyn’s. Her team was tied in the semifinals in Hershey, Pa at the end of the game. When that happens, the winner is determined by having only the goalie stand on the goal line and letting the opposing players get a direct kick to try to make a goal. She held them off for a while but eventually someone scored. Her team lost. She was injured earlier in the game. An opposing player fell on her leg when Brooklyn dived to stop a goal. The swelling was so large and quick that the coach had her checked by the on site medical tech. He determined her injury is a deep bruise. If the swelling does’t go down she’ll need to be seen at urgent care. I wonder why kids play sports. This girl is constantly getting injured. Wishing you a safe week. Thanks for your visit. “One sees great things from the valley; only small things from the peak.” - Gilbert K. Chesterton
