Grumpy Old Man

Taken for a ride

Today a fête was being held at Ardchattan Priory, along the north shore of Loch Etive, the other side of the Connel Bridge. The forecast wasn't great, some sunshine, some clouds, some wind - usual really!

After an early lunch we drove up there - only a half hour drive - and had a good wander. Although the garden is open every Wednesday throughout the season today was rather special, and refreshments, plants sales, children's choir singing, classic cars and other happenings added to the fun. Being a local event we met many people we knew, particularly of the gardening fraternity,  and enjoyed some good chats. My Blip today is of the very special event - a ride on a goat cart - and my extra explains exactly what was on offer!

It's a while since I was there and I'd forgotten what a lovely garden it is, with large areas of flower meadows too. Maybe I'll go back again a bit later in the season
