Manchester with Youngest

After an anxious spell earlier in the week, I thought youngest might enjoy a long drive out in the car today but she had other ideas, asking to go to Manchester instead.

We caught a train just after noon and walked to the Science & Industry Museum that was unfortunately in the midst of a lot of work going on and not much fun...on a personal note am also peeved that it's Air & Space Hall is no more, soon to be some sort of commercial space.

Not to worry. After a cuppa & sandwich we wandered off and found the NT Garden on a disused Viaduct I have been wanting to visit for ages but haven't had chance. Youngest wasn't keen on the idea but beat me up the tall flight of steps and was pleasantly surprised :-).There is a possibility it'll be extended quite some distance and I hope that it does.

Afterwards we visited a shop she likes in the Northern Quarter but it was too hot & stuffy so we slowly made .our way back to Piccadilly for a train home. I may have dozed on the settee.
