Elephant Island

This photo, taken on Oct,28, 2024, shows another view of Elephant Island. The barren and cold south coast of the island, a place that offers no shelter to a human being.
This is one of the first views Sir Ernest Shackleton and his men had of dry land in 1916, after their long stay as shipwreck survivors on the sea ice of the Weddell Sea.
