Cape Lookout - Elephant Island - Antarctica

The barren island where Ernest Shackleton and his men got a dubious shelter, in 1916, after the sinking of their ship - The Endurtance -  in the Weddell sea, is seen here in a winter sunset. I took this photograph from a Zodiac in a terrible cold and windy moment (Oct/2024), which made me imagine for some moments what those iron men have lived.
This Monochrome is a humble homage to the Great Photographer Sebastião Salgado, who left us alone a couple of weeks ago.
