The 52nd
I had an oncologist appointment in the hospital in the morning. I was fortunate to receive good news again; the status of my metastases has remained the same. I will be scanned next time in September.
Then I got the 52nd drug treatment. In the open chemotherapy room where my place was today there were at least 14 other cancer patients getting infusions. I get my combination treatment as an injection (pertuzumab + trastuzumab, both are targeted therapy drugs known as monoclonal antibodies). The drug is slowly (5 min) injected to my thigh, each time to the different thigh that was used previous time. Because I have to put down my jeans, curtains are closed around my area. It's very rare to see another injection / curtained patient at the same time in the ward.
I started sick leave today, because I'm too tired to work. I'm puzzled what to do in order to get more energy.
The rest of teh day I slept and rested.
