Dancing in the street...!

A now long-established tradition is that my 2 sons and I will spend a day at the Edinburgh Fringe. Today was the day, and we couldn't have wished for better weather... hot and sunny! Edinburgh was full of life, the street artists were out in force and so were the Fringe go-ers - a great atmosphere!

We saw 3 great shows... the Shawshank Redemption is superb! If you are going to the Fringe and can still get tickets for it I would recommend it. Hardhitting though, definitely not a "feelgood" show! We saw a comedian called Daniel Sloss next, followed by a great 12 piece Band in "Blues!", which covered the history of the Blues from Delta blues to Jack White. Great music but also great stories of the people and places behind the songs which really brought the music to life...

I chose this photo because for me it summed up the fun of just wandering the streets and enjoying the street artists... this lady was having a great time! We had seen this guitarist on previous Fringe visits, and, on one memorable occasion, he included a verse about my younger son in his song... that's the sort of thing that can happen at the Fringe!
