Archie had a bonus walk with Elizabeth today, because she missed him on Saturday, when she was away on holiday. And they had a nice day for it. And that chilly wind has dropped.
I went into town for my COVID jab. I was the only person there, and was told to go and have a seat. But there were four nurses sitting chatting, all quite keen to call me over and actually do something. There'll be another jab in the autumn, I was told. Combined with a flu jab.
I walked through the Gardens, and it was lovely. No wind, sunny, warm - just what we expect in June. At the Galleries, instead of random groups or single pipers doing their own thing, there was a stage set up and there were were groups of school kids playing all sorts of Scottish traditional music. Great!
I walked along to Boots to do an eye test for reading glasses. The ones I got there a few months ago aren't quite good enough. I must have stopped doing the test too soon. Anyway, since last time I was in there, they have moved their 'eyes' department to their other shop in the St James Centre. They just do 'ears' now...
JR then told me the Gallery Shop does specs, and has an eye test, so I walked back along there. I used my instruction booklet from my new seat/walking stick, which has very small type that I couldn't read with my reading glasses on. So now I can order some glasses of the correct strength online.
JR then went down for her jab in the afternoon, but could really have come at the same time as me, as they were NOT busy.
Abi and Pip were walking behind me this morning, and she texted,
‘We're on your six'...
I've never heard that expression before, but apparently it’s a military term.
Town was looking lovely today in the sun, so I couldn't resist yet another shot of the Old Town skyline, barely visible over the luscious new greenery on the trees.
