Another MoT bites the dust
March it was the Mazda MX-5, Late May the Hyundai i20 and today the Harley XL1200T all passed the Ministry of Transport annual test with no advisories or problems.
Although, when I picked the bike up, Aide who is the mechanic and owner of MANTRA MOTORCYCLES in Gloucester, handed me a a lump of metal which turned out to be the drive belt cover. He said he noticed a rattle and found the rear strut of the cover has sheared at the bolt so it was vibrating and rattling against the suspension spring.
I have already ordered a replacement, new ones appear to be anywhere between £80 to over £100. The one I found is used, but good, and is £34 off Ebay. Very easy to fit so I'll have that done before the service on the 25th.
I nipped to the bank, while I was down town, to put in some donation money I'd collected for VE80 an 2025 Poppy pins. On the way through the city I took some photos. There's a few Extras which will disappear when I get short of extras capacity!
A drop in centre
An old timbered building (Ye Olde Chip Shop) which is obviously having some exterior renovation work done.
The entrance to the New Inn - Not very 'New' as it is from the 15th century as in the other photo saying it is the finest example of such a Medieval inn - and it is still in full use as a hotel.
Spirit of Aviation, man standing on a noisy jet engine as Gloucester, Brockworth airfield, is where the first allied jet was built and carried out test flights.
And a couple of other photos of old buildings including St Thomas's Tower
