A riot of colour
Each year a friend and I try to visit some gardens of interest and today we returned to Capel Manor. We were hoping, in particular to find inspiration to bring colour to the August garden. I do feel that mine is very much a Spring garden and it can look a bit jaded at this point late in the summer. Well,we certainly found plenty to inspire! It was hard to choose just one image so here is a selection, with some bonus insects as well!
Capel Manor is a Georgian Manor House and Victorian Stables surrounded by 30 acres of richly planted themed gardens including Historical Gardens, an Italianate Maze, Japanese Garden, Kim Wilde's Jungle Gym Garden, Sunflower Street (seven front and back gardens designed by former students of the college), Gardening Which? Magazine demonstration and trial gardens. Capel Manor College is Greater London's only specialist College of Horticulture, Floristry, Garden Design
