Roof terrace sun room: Day 1

So, the work has begun - three major projects, which apparently will take three weeks. First project is to build a 'sun room' on the roof terrace. The work men arrived at 9.15 and it was deafeningly noisy - removing old wall tiles, and erecting the iron girder framework.  Fortunately Rufus and I already had plans to meet Janis and John for lunch which got us out of the house for a couple of hours. Poor laddie didn't like the noise and the strangers one little bit and was really rather nervous.  We were both feeling rather fragile and fractious by the end of the day but fortunately, a remedy was provided when we went, along with my neighbour Lucy, to spend the evening with Jackie and Nick.  After a scrummy supper, the four of us passed a fun evening playing cards - Solo whist (trumps) and Chase the Lady. I haven't played card for goodness knows how many years and this was a really enjoyable time which I hope we'll repeat !

Extra: the empty roof terrace a few days ago.  I expect there will be quite a few photos of this project over the next few weeks !
