Our Great Spotted Woodpecker and son at breakfast.

7:45am. He came early and it was great to see him feeding his offspring and showing him how to use the fatball feeder.
I think junior had got the hang of it very quickly as you would expect.
I’m fast running out of bird food right now, as it is like a feeding station for a nursery!
But it is such a delight to see them all.
We had our circular walk yesterday afternoon after lunch knowing it would rain today, which has arrived as predicted.
I have my yearly eye examination this morning. My dad had glaucoma and was registered blind, partially sighted in his 80’s, so I do not have to pay.
(Obviously have to pay for my glasses though, but don’t need another pair this time)
I think it will be interesting as for some reason I had what the French call a “Nuit Blanche” last night, continually waking far more often than usual, and feel tired!
It was a pretty full on day yesterday.
The garden will benefit from the rain. I cut some roses yesterday evening and brought them indoors to enjoy.
Thankyou for all the lovely comments about the garden!
We are having some work done today to replace some of the wooden “sleepers” which surround the flower beds, and have become rotten in places. He arrived at 7:45am and is already very busy. We know him well. He and his dad’s team installed our walk in shower and new sink in our bathroom last year. His dad has now retired. Always good to know that you will have a job well done.
