Roses in June

It was a calm sunny morning. The roses in the garden are in full bloom and tumbling over the flower bed and pergola. I went outside to admire them in the gentle morning light. In the meadow the dog roses are in flower. I love their gentle pinks and simple beauty.

Although today looked to be the best weather day of the week I’d set my mind on cleaning the downstairs of the house. I washed floors and scrubbed cupboards, dusted and tidied. It’s now feeling and looking much better. I also picked more strawberries as the weather is due to be wet and very windy tomorrow.
