Sunny Sunday
We’d decided that as the tide was favourable we’d get up promptly this morning and take Merlin to the beach at Hayling Island. At low tide there’s an expanse of sand he can run on and shallow water to run through. This morning he seemed to enjoy the beach more than ever, running and running, and delighting is splashing in the water as he charged along. It was such a pleasure to watch him feeling free and happy. By the time we left the beach the tide was coming in and a brisk westerly wind was blowing. Kite surfers were on the beach readying themselves for getting on the water, their colourful kites scattered across the sand like little tents.
We both felt rather sleepy when we returned home so fortified ourselves with a cup of tea and brunch. I then popped to the allotment and picked a couple of punnets of strawberries and a handful of gooseberries some of which Andy has used to make strawberry and gooseberry sponges for dessert this evening. I think I will be encouraging him to make some more!
Best wishes for your Sunday evening and the week ahead.
