Garden yellow flag iris
Our yellow flag iris doesn't bloom every year, so we have been very excited to see it come to life over the past couple of days. Mr hazelh tended it this afternoon when he fashioned a coat hanger into a plant-brace to prevent it from toppling over in our pond.
On very little sleep (aaargh!) I have had a very busy day. I have been for a meeting on campus with Bruce (Mr hazelh walked me there), for a cup of tea and catch-up with Véronique, and to the supermarkets for a big shop.
I devoted most of the afternoon to quarter-mistressing. As far as food is concerned, I think that I have everything organised for our departure on holiday on Wednesday.
As 'reward' for my efforts, I spent an hour in the garden before supper. Tomorrow I will pack clothes, outdoor gear, games, and books. I'll be popping to the library at some point, so if anyone has any suggestions for my holiday reading, please do let me know. My reading preferences are for literary fiction.
Exercise today: 1 hour on the exercise bike; walking (18,529 steps).
