Crossed the Atlantic Twice Today!
Ok so I was just working on the Isle of Seil but it sounded good! It is about 12 miles south of Oban and connected to the mainland of Argyll by the lovely old humpbacked Clachan Bridge better known as the 'Bridge over the Atlantic'. Always a pleasure to visit.
The bridge was designed with a high arch of roughly 22 metres span and 12 metres above the bed of the channel to allow the passage of vessels up to 40 tonnes at high tide.
The high arch makes it interesting to drive over as you cannot see if there is anything approaching until you are literally over the top! The thundering rain did not help visibility on my journey down. Fortunately it cleared a bit on my way back.
