Down on the farm

We’ve survived the night with the animals, actually we all slept well, and it was very quiet. We had a nice leisurely morning, lovely fresh eggs for breakfast and a walk round the farm.  Sophie, the daughter of our campsite’s owner, kindly came with me to ward off the guard geese so that I could get photos of the pair of Canada Geese and their offspring on the other side of the pond.  She said the pair came last year but didn’t have any young, so she’s pleased to see them with some babies this year.

In the afternoon friend Fi paid us a visit on her way back from a works’ BBQ, we sat out in the sun and watched some of the aircraft displaying at the Midlands Air and Balloon Festival which started today and which Mr HB and I will be attending tomorrow and Sunday.  Fi and I thought the Red Arrows were displaying just for us as they came swooping over the caravan site and it was awesome seeing the Lancaster and Spitfire too.

Much more to see tomorrow,  a real tonic for Mr HB.
