Varenna

Hmmm … things didn’t go to plan today as we’d hoped to visit Bellagio by ferry but all the pre-bookable tickets were sold out so the best option was to take the 5 minute train journey to Varenna and try from there. The queue was huge and you can’t book a return so we’d run the risk of getting to Bellagio then not being able to get back … too stressful!

Walked around lovely Varenna but so so busy and I expect that Bellagio would be worse.

I got the train back and G walked a high path in 30c … too hot for me! We enjoyed a beer and my first ever Aperol spritz with generous free snacks back in quiet Balleno for €11. Would have cost 3x more in posh Bellagio!

One of the extras I thought was an art class, but no … pizza boxes!
