Bearded Theory / Sunday
A good day, today, starting with Shonen Knife, a wonderful band that I think would lift the heaviest of hearts, a pop punk sound delivered by three Japanese ladies who are clearly enjoying themselves. (See my Extra.)
They were followed by Nadine Shah, who really is a great performer, with a great band and songs.
I took my daily break back at the camper van to have a nap and practise some guitar, before returning to catch the end of The Selecter. Whilst they weren't my favourite ska band, I think fourteen year old me would have been pleased that I made the effort to see them.
That was followed by a trip to the Meadow Stage to see Shonen Knife again, although this time in their guise as Osaka Ramones, a Ramones tribute band! I'm not a Ramones fan, but I enjoyed every minute.
And we closed the day with Public Service Broadcasting, a band I'm beginning to think I might have seen too often. That said, this was a cracking show, and I enjoyed it start to finish. Today's photo is, of course, my #obligatoryspitfire shot.
